0-60mph in 1.72 seconds on an electric car, is worth all the money? Electric cars have changed the automotive industry. We’ve heard of cheap electric cars, as low as 30 thousand dollars but let’s forget about that. Let’s talk about the Top 10 most expensive electric cars in the World. And let’s look at their specifications and see what makes them so pricey. Some of these might SHOCK you though. Let’s get it started!
#10: Audi e-Tron GT.
Starting with Audi e-Tron GT which is currently priced at 164 thousand dollars..If its sleek exterior doesn’t impress you, the specifications definitely will. The car can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and has a total power output of 469 horsepower. And it even has an over-boost function which gives you an output of up to 522 horsepower for 2.5 seconds.nAgain, the range isn’t quite good but otherwise, the car is so spectacular you can’t complain.
#9: Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
Next on the list is the first-ever electrified Porsche to ever have been launched,.the Turbo S is priced at 185 thousand dollars right now and is one of the fastest electric vehicles in the market nowadays. Sure, this car has a lower driving range than its primary rival, the Tesla Model S but that’s the only weak point of this car. Even that doesn’t even matter much considering the Porsche sports car sensation and fast charging time this car provides..The performance of this car is quite amazing..It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds and has an overall power output of 750 horsepower.
#8: Tesla Roadster.
This might shock you. Like everyone thinks Tesla electrical cars are the most expensive and they’re #8 on this list? Well, believe it because it’s true. And spoiler alert, this is the only Tesla car that is going to make it to the list so you know, maybe, they aren’t as expensive as everyone thinks. Tesla’s Roadster is actually a record-breaking car though. It’s the quickest car in the whole World! And its range and performance are extremely wonderful as well. Get ready to get your mind blown. This car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in ONLY 1.9 SECONDS! It has a maximum speed of 250 mph This excellent speed is all thanks to its 200 kWh battery and three motors. Oh and on top of all that, the car’s exterior is to die for. And it’s only priced at 200 thousand dollars. This might seem like a lot but trust me, as compared to the other cars, this is quite less.
#7: Lightning GT.
This wonder car launched by the Lightning Car Company is priced at 300 thousand dollars. Back in 2008, when it was first launched, it was a traditional petrol-powered car but then it evolved into a diesel-powered car. And now, it’s an all-electric supercar. It still isn’t in production yet but you can place an order for it right now at 300 thousand dollars. The company claims this car will have a 22kWh battery which will be able to recharge in only 10 minutes. With the car, there will also be an onboard charger that could fully charge the car in five hours. Another thing they claim is the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. As attractive as it sounds, maybe it’s not a good idea to place an order on it right now because who knows when Lightning will finally start producing them?!
#6: Rolls-Royce 102 EX.
The perfect description of this car would be where the future and past meet each other. Most electric vehicles you’ll see would give you more of a fast sports car vibe But this one is the World’s first electric car for those who like luxurious classic cars. Even though it hasn’t been released yet, if it does, this car is the future of cars like traditional craftsmanship and electric power. Isn’t that the perfect car? And it’s priced at only 500 thousand dollars. I mean, quite less for something so great. Don’t expect a very fast car with a huge range or acceleration. With Rolls-Royce, it’s more about the classic feel of the car and a silent, peaceful ride. So, the specifications aren’t something to be discussed, it’s just that the V12 petrol engine has been replaced with a battery pack and a motor.
#5: Mercedes Benz SLS Electric Drive.
Priced at 550 thousand dollars, this car is a limited production from Mercedes. Only 20 of them were sold to people and the production only continued for a very brief period. It has an electrical equivalent of 740 horsepower but the 1200 pound battery pack really slows the car down. So, this might not be that impressive as compared to the other cars but it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. But the car still deserves recognition. Mercedes was one of the first companies to explore the electric vehicle field with this car.
#4: Genovation GXE.
This 800 horsepower car is currently priced at 750 thousand dollars. It holds the record for the fastest street-legal all-electric car in the world with a maximum speed of 212 mph. Electric cars usually use a single-speed transmission or even a two-speed transmission, as in the Porsche Taycan, but the GXE is sold with a 7-speed manual or an 8-position automatic. It's surreal to see a sports car famous for its V8 like the Corvette without the characteristic engine noise. Converted by the company Genovation, the GXE starts with a race-inspired aluminum frame engineered in America. Its royal blue exterior makes it a treat to look at. And two 250 kW batteries just make it a treat to drive as well.
#3: Rimac Nevera.
Get ready for a sudden huge jump in the price because this car is priced at a total of 2.5 million dollars! Rimac claims this is the fastest accelerating car to ever exist on the planet and that it will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 1.85 seconds. Moreover, the car will have a power output of around 1914 horsepower. These are all claims for now though. Rimac aims to produce only 150 units of this limited edition wonder and each unit has a different customization option. So, it’s safe to say no two units of this car will be the same. Besides its high speed, this car also has 13 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors and 6 radar sensors that are used by the AI driving coach to easily help the driver with tricky situations on the road.
#2: Pininfarina Battista.
Currently priced at 2.6 million dollars, this car is a wonder! It has a power output of 1900 horsepower from its electric motors. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 2 seconds - faster than a Formula 1 car and has a maximum speed of around 220 mph. These are numbers to put compatriot LaFerrari to shame. Ferrari's hybrid super sports car delivers 950 hp, half the power of the Battista. It will be Pininfarina Automobili's first car as its own brand. Electric cars are known for their silence, but Automobili Pininfarina claims that the Battista will have its own audio signature. The hypercar with a body made entirely of carbon fiber will be manufactured at the company's headquarters in Cambiano, Italy and this is also a limited production car: only 150 units will be produced.
#1: Aspark Owl.
Ending with the most expensive electric car, Aspark Owl that is priced at a total of 3.6 million dollars! The model had been developed since 2017 and has a power of like 1985 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 1.72 seconds. The maximum speed reaches 250 mph, if all that wasn’t impressive enough, the car’s 64-kWh lithium-ion battery pack also means it has a solid 249-mile range. In addition to its amazing performance, the Owl is also one of the world's lowest cars, at just 38 inches tall. Rimac Nevera is only claimed to be the fastest accelerating car but currently, Aspark Owl actually holds that title. Only 50 units would be produced of this car out of which 20 would be for Europe, 20 for Asia and 10 for the States.
